Lodge Coffee Shop is a cozy breakfast and coffee spot tucked away on Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights. The moment you walk in, the woodsy, cabin-inspired interior sets a laid-back tone reminiscent of a mountain lodge, offering a casual, lived-in warmth that feels unhurried and welcoming. It’s not polished to perfection, but that slightly worn quality adds to its charm and makes it clear this is a place locals come for familiar comfort rather than flash.

This spot thrives on hearty, straightforward breakfast fare with standout dishes like their chicken fried steak & eggs, corned beef hash, and various omelets loaded with classic ingredients such as ham, mushroom, and cheese. The hash browns here tend to arrive extra crispy for those who like a bit of crunch, and the eggs are prepared with a satisfying richness that elevates the morning staple beyond the bland norm. On sweeter mornings, the fluffy blueberry or happy face pancakes arrive plentiful, though the waffle has a soft texture that some might find less crisp than traditional Belgian styles.

Service at Lodge Coffee Shop tends to be friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, highlighting a community vibe that invites conversation and relaxed mornings. It’s the kind of place where regulars feel at home and newcomers get a warm welcome. The kitchen sticks close to familiar comfort food, making it ideal for breakfast lovers who want a straightforward meal with a bit of character.

As for when to go, early to mid-morning visits capture the breakfast rush with bustling but manageable energy. The interior, inspired by a rustic A-frame style, keeps things cozy year-round but can feel a little cramped during peak times, so weekdays might offer a quieter start to your day. Despite the modest façade and simple décor, the focus is clearly on sincere, well-prepared food that satisfies early cravings.

Overall, Lodge Coffee Shop suits anyone looking for classic American breakfast fare in a no-frills, relaxed setting with a touch of mountain lodge nostalgia. Whether you’re stopping by for a straightforward coffee and eggs combo or digging into the more indulgent country fried steak and biscuits, this spot delivers an honest, homemade feel that resonates with locals and travelers seeking a taste of Citrus Heights mornings.

Lake Tahoe is missing their rustic little A-Frame restaurant. Set back along busy Auburn Blvd., this small, coffee shop has an unpretentious exterior. The woodsy interior is slightly worn, but clean, with a friendly staff and delicious food. It would be a shame to drive by and not stop in for a tasty meal.

A fantastic small place to get some good food. They do their breakfast a little different which I liked a lot. The hash browns can be served extra crispy and is the better for it. Also the chicken fried steak is done in a thinner batter which lets you taste the meat. The eggs are also well cooked and had a good flavor, where most places they are bland.

Atmosphere is a lil off putting when u walk in but the service was solid the country fried steak was hand breaded and the country gravy was full of flavor the waffle was a little to fluffy for my preference I prefer a crunchy waffle but overall a good experience food wise and service . I always forget the pics before we start eating sorry...

A Cozy Breakfast Gem in Citrus Heights If you’re looking for a charming breakfast spot with a warm, rustic feel, The Lodge Coffee Shop on 8191 Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights, CA is a must-visit! This small A-frame restaurant brings the cozy, cabin-like atmosphere of South Lake Tahoe right into town, making it the perfect spot to start your morning. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly and incredible service. The staff made us feel right at home, which only added to the inviting ambiance. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely fantastic. I had a classic breakfast of eggs, ham, and a short stack of pancakes, and everything was cooked to perfection. My wife went with the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, which was hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a comforting breakfast. And let’s not forget the coffee—rich, smooth, and just right. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot. The Lodge Coffee Shop delivers on quality food, great service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – We’ll definitely be back!
